Avalanche Safety & Rescue Training
Run in partnership with Pisteur Secouriste and with a highly experienced faculty of National Association for Snow and Avalanche Studies (ANENA) instructors, IFMGA guides and mountain rescue personnel, this specialised course bridges the gap between recreational awareness and professional operational response for teams in high-consequence winter environments.
The curriculum focuses on both prevention as well as incident response. You will learn about weather analysis, snowpack stability assessment and safe route selection while rehearsing high-stakes rescue scenarios, from DVA and probe searches with rescue dogs to complex Helicopter Landing Site (HLS) coordination.
What to Expect:
Risk Assessment: Learn from snow scientists about how weather phenomena effect the snowpack, terrain-specific hazards and how to select an itinerary safely.
Search & Recovery: Hands-on training in casualty extraction and on-site medical care.
Rescue Logistics: Practice seamless handovers and protocols with professional rescue teams.
Suitable for all skiers & snowboarders who can ski comfortably off-piste.
