We bridge the gap between recreational awareness and operational response through a curriculum delivered by an expert-led faculty with current, real-world experience in active mountain rescue.

The course is specifically designed to provide an understanding of avalanche avoidance, focussing on the study of weather phenomena, how this changes the evolution of snow crystals and the subsequent effect on snowpack stability. We focus on practical in-terrain avalanche risk assessment. Heavy emphasis is placed on route selection and the nuances of moving teams safely through high-consequence environments.

Beyond prevention, we ensure your team is prepared to react swiftly and appropriately should an incident occur; we rehearse search techniques, including working alongside rescue dogs, DVA searching, probe searches, casualty extraction and medical treatment on site.

Finally, we cover the complex logistics of managing a rescue, including HLS (Helicopter Landing Site) location in difficult terrain and the protocols for dealing with professional rescue teams to ensure a seamless transition of care.
